Do you know about Waterbury Hospital’s Open Access Program?

The Open Access Program is located at 88 Grandview Avenue and is available for walk-in intakes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7:30 am – 1 pm.

The Open Access program can provide patients help with medical management, referrals to Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), partial hospitalizations, adolescent/adult/geriatric psychiatry, appointments with social workers and prescribers as needed.

Did you know that 24/7 Children’s Emergency Mobile Crisis Intervention Services can help when a child or adolescent under the age of 18 is out of control and in a crisis that is too difficult for you to handle?

For example:
A child who is putting him/herself or others in danger… A teen who is acting violently… An angry child who is behaving dangerously…

  • Crisis Clinicians are available in person or by phone to respond to the crisis, and work with the child and family
    to bring the situation under control as soon as possible.
  • Mobile Crisis helps resolve behavioral or emotional crisis, at home, in school, wherever help is needed.
  • Support is provided to the child and family for up to 6 weeks.
  • Follow-up care involves the child, family members, and community based supports.

Did you know that Enhanced Care Clinics (ECCs) are specially-designated Connecticut-based mental health & substance abuse clinics that provide routine outpatient services such as individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management and other special services.

ECCs provide emergency, urgent and routine behavioral care with timing based on the urgency of need.

For example:

  • Clients with emergent needs are seen within two hours.
  • Clients with urgent needs are seen within two days.
  • Clients with routine needs are seen within two weeks.
  • Extended coverage outside of normal business hours is also available.
